چکیده
This integrative review aimed to report the toxic effect of submicron and nano-scale commercially pure titanium (cp Ti) debris on cells peri-implant tissues. A systematic search was carried out PubMed electronic platform using following key terms: Ti “OR” “AND” dental implants nanoparticles nanometric osteoblasts “OR “cytotoxicity” OR “macrophage” “mutagenic” “peri-implantitis”. The inclusion criteria involved articles published in English language, until December 26, 2020, reporting particles as released from toxicity damage osteoblasts. Of 258 identified, 14 were selected for this review. Submicron cp altered behavior culture medium. An inflammatory response triggered by macrophages, fibroblasts, osteoblasts, mesenchymal cells, odontoblasts indicated detection several mediators such IL-6, IL-1?, TNF-?, PGE2. formation a bioactive complex composed calcium phosphorus allowed their binding proteins leading cell internalization phenomenon. induced mutagenic carcinogenic effects into cells. cytotoxic depends size, concentration, chemical composition particles. high concentration scale intensifies responses with potential surrounding Titanium ions have been detected tissues different forms. presence metallic at also stimulates migration immune reactions. Cp TiO2 micro- can reach bloodstream, accumulating lungs, liver, spleen, bone marrow.

The corrosion of dental biomaterials is a pertinent clinical issue. In spite of the recent innovative metallurgical and technological advances and remarkable progress in the design and development of surgical and dental materials, failures do occur. The present article describes the problem of corrosion in titanium dental implants. The clinical significance of the dental implant corrosion is hi...
متن کاملBiologic Width around Dental Implants: An Updated Review
Soft tissue-implant interface is an important anatomical feature contributing to the long-term success of dental implants. Based on the available evidence, different factors may influence biological width around implants including the surgical technique, implant loading, implant surface properties, abutment materials, implant position, and width of the peri-implant mucosa. The purpose of the pr...
متن کاملMaintenance of Dental Implants: A Review
Objective: Successful bonding of a dental implant to bone, which was referred to as osseointegration by Branemark has been well documented. However, long-term prognosis of an implant depends on adequate maintenance and long-term care. An effective maintenance program is required to preserve the health of peri-implant tissues. Several techniques have been suggested for this purpose but it is n...
